Title: Prodigy (Legend #2)
Author Marie Lu
Pages: 371
Barnes & Nobles Description: June and Day arrive in Vegas just as the unthinkable happens: the Elector Primo dies, and his son Anden takes his place. With the Republic edging closer to chaos, the two join a group of Patriot rebels eager to help Day rescue his brother and offer passage to the Colonies. They have only one request—June and Day must assassinate the new Elector.
It’s their chance to change the nation, to give voice to a people silenced for too long.
But as June realizes this Elector is nothing like his father, she’s haunted by the choice ahead. What if Anden is a new beginning? What if revolution must be more than loss and vengeance, anger and blood—what if the Patriots are wrong?
Review: Prodigy begins right after we leave off with the two main protagonists, Day and June, wondering what will happen next. Prodigy is just as explosive as Legend was, leaving me gasping and rapidly turning pages to see what unfolds next. There are so many twists and turns that left me breathless. The character development was brilliant, and let the readers know exactly what was going through the minds of Day and June. Prodigy is the definition of a page-turner, keeping me up late at night, anticipating what would happen next. The end had me making sure that I didn't skip a page at the end. The next and final book in the series, Champion, will most likely make me feel the same way, even though I haven't read it yet. Marie Lu is an absolute genius when it comes to making a story come to life in the readers head. Excited for what she has coming next for her growing amount of admirers. I am now one of those admirers.
